Hello ladies (and gentlemen)…
Well iNSD is over, and I for one am seriously relieved – the shopping, speed scraps, chats, sales, downloading, ordering, chaos, keeping track of the budget…ugh. I love it, but I’m never more relieved than when it’s over! Add into that the jobs of the designers – doing the advertising and getting you out all those great deals. But I had a lot of fun, got a TON of great stuff from GREAT designers, and now I need to set aside some time to recuperate and do some scrapping with it!
I actually did get some scrapping done this weekend. Wanna see?

I used my good friend Tiffany’s Grab-A-Byte items from Scrapbook-Bytes for this layout, and a template by Captivated Visions that I bought this weekend. I also used Tiffany’s Easy Blends sampler masks…I love masks and this added that perfect final touch! This year we bought my son his very first “big boy” bike (with training wheels of course) and he had so much fun going out to ride it for the first time. If you hurry you can still grab Tiff’s GAB items for only $1 and $2!

For this layout, I used items from Connie Prince’s “Growth Spurt” kit that I’ve had for a while. This is the layout I did for Connie’s speed scrap at Scrapbook-Bytes on Saturday night.

This layout I did using Tiffany’s PU Grab Bag items from Dusty Jeans. It’s a beautiful girly-yet-tomboyish kit, and you can get it for only $3 – and it’s still on sale! You can also grab the combo grab bag that has Dirty Jeans included, the boyish match to the kit, and the combo is only $5.50. It was definitely time for me to do a girly layout, all I have is a young toddler boy and a husband, so it seems like all I ever get to work with is boyish colors. I loved working with the mix of boyish dirty elements with pink!
That’s my scrapping for the weekend – I did pretty good for myself considering that I had to advertise, shop, and attend chats as well!
I’m also really glad that Mother’s Day is over – I talked with a lot of mothers out there who had horrible Mother’s Day weekends like I did. Mine did end on a pretty good note though.
My husband tried. Bless his heart, he really did. He’s just not that good with gift-giving. Me – I’m a girl. I usually don’t know what I want until the very last minute, and usually you can just thrill me by giving me something scrap-related that I’ve been wanting, or money to go and buy it myself. Heath usually resorts to jewelry for Christmas – this Christmas was awesome. I lost my wedding ring in the fire – you see, when we got married we didn’t have money for rings, so my grandma ordered me a ring to use and though it was beautiful, it wasn’t real gold. So it tarnished. Not to mention the fact that since it wasn’t real gold, it couldn’t be sized, and it was too big for me after my fingers stopped swelling from the pregnancy. After a while it was just so uncomfortable to wear that I had to stop wearing it. So this last Christmas, he saved up and replaced my wedding ring with a real ring – it’s simple, small, and just perfect for me. It almost matches my engagement ring too. And yet, I still haven’t gotten it sized so I can actually wear it.
Anyway, this Mother’s Day I didn’t expect much from him – he came home from work and presented me with his present. What was it? A Snuggie.
Are you dying from laughter yet? I just about did. Yes, Snuggies are pretty lame. I have to admit that. However, his heart was in the right place – I’ve been asking for a Snuggie for a while, no matter how lame they are, because in the winter I work a lot on the computer and it’s difficult to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and work on the computer. Snuggies are perfect for digiscrappers and designers because you can snuggle up and relax while still scrapping or designing. The only bad thing about it is that now it’s summer and I won’t need it as much. But I did get cold last night and snuggle up with it and my computer – and I had a little issue, got a little tangled up in my Snuggie and my computer cords and just about killed myself. BUT…I’m giving him points because he got me a present, he listened to something I wanted, AND he didn’t forget the day. That’s all that matters.
So a little warning: if you buy a Snuggie, be careful and don’t kill yourself like I almost did! lol
To the point of this post – I wanted to update you all on a few things going on.
First of all, I wanted to let you know that I won’t have any new releases for a while. I’m back at work this week, but I’m mostly going to take this week to focus on getting my personal blog back up and running. I hope to have a freebie up for you sometime this week, but I can’t promise anything. This weekend my husband and I will be out of town for a couple days, my MIL is graduating with her Master’s in Geriatrics so we’re going to be attending her graduation and there’s also a concert that same night in the same town of one of my favorite rock bands. I saw them in concert once when they opened for Evanescence, and I’m so excited to hopefully see them again! So I won’t be doing any work this weekend and I may not be at the computer much either.
I’m late on releasing my May 365 mini and templates, but I plan to release them at the end of May – so if you’re on the lookout for that, that’s when it will come. Other than that I have no solid plans for releases, but I also haven’t dug back in and started working on anything yet, so just keep your eyes out!
Speaking of stuff coming, I was finally able to replace my Wacom tablet this weekend – it came to my door on Saturday so once I get used to it again I’ll try to put out a little doodle freebie or something for you all. I’m looking forward to getting back into doodling stuff for my kits!
Finally, I made the decision this weekend to switch my newsletter back over to Mailchimp – I was using PHPlist for a while but I wasn’t liking the fact that I couldn’t keep track of specific clicks and everything, so I’m switching back over to Mailchimp so I can do that. I may send out a freebie in my next newsletter in the next couple of weeks, so if you’d like to sign up, just go here!

I think that will be all from me today – I’m going through a lot of changes over here on the design end, but I’m excited for them. I’ll definitely be keeping busy this summer!
Hope everyone had a fantastic iNSD – remember that the blog train freebie from me is still available until the 15th, and then it will be deactivated and released in my store at some point. So grab it from the post below! Also, my 50% off sale is still going on and my Build Your Own and PU Grab Bags are also still available until tonight, so pick them quick if you want them!
Have a great day!
